Neil deGrasse Tyson: Ask Me Anything (AMA)
Hosted in Reddit's Art Community
As one of the most prolific astrophysicists of our time, Neil deGrasse Tyson first showed an interest in astronomy in his teens and gained fame by giving astronomy lectures at 15 years old. He showed such promise that world-renowned astronomer Carl Sagan tried to recruit Tyson to Cornell University for his undergraduate education. He instead chose to study at Harvard for undergrad and later at the University of Texas at Austin and Columbia University for his Master’s and Ph.D., respectively. Tyson has since written a number of popular books on astronomy, served as the director of the Hayden Planetarium, and hosted multiple television series, including Origins and Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (a revival of a show that Sagan started), as well as radio shows. Tyson has participated in 5 AMAs since 2011, racking up nearly 40,000 questions from the Reddit community and accumulating 216,487 karma points (and counting)! For his fifth Ask Me Anything, Neil wanted to explore the depths of his knowledge of art, so [they] hosted the AMA in the Art community!
